Wisdom, Life and Coffee

James 3:13

A good life.  It's a phrase that appeals to me.  This word we read as life is not life itself, but our way of living.  It actually comes from the word anastrephō which means to turn back; you keep coming back to it again and again.  How do you like your coffee?  Whole milk and Splenda, please.  That's my anastrephō.  That's my way of life.

A good life.  I think of a man I known all my life.  A quiet man.  Steady as the sun.  Gentle.  A hard worker.  A thinker.  Grace liver.  Helper.  Sacrificer.  Encourager.  Humility.  He's the kind of man that when he says something you want to absorb it.  You trust his advice.  And here he is in James.  Wise.

Not a firecracker every-once-in-a-while... but a wisdom that's in the every-day.  A wisdom that just breathes.  A wisdom that is the foundation of the routine.  This is how you take your coffee.  This is how you live.
